I found The Zone of Interest quite good.
Wondering if it might have worked as well or better without the sound effects and abstract imagery trying to increase the sense of foreboding.

Also, maybe a bit far-fetched or excessive perhaps, but can be as an allegory of current society where many would just hope that the vines grow and cover the proverbial concentration camp walls out of sight.

@valoisa Define ”sanat”! Brian Enohan teoretisoi 1970-luvulla, että popmusiikissa mikä tahansa sillisalaatti käy sanoitukseksi ja pisti tämän myös käytäntöön. Jäänyt myös mieleen kun Suomen euroviisuehdokkaan paikasta kisaili tää tapaus nonsenselyriikoilla 😅

If you need a short- or medium term car lease in Finland then Toyota’s Kinto Flex seems to be a good option. You can only book at most one month ahead, but the prices are even 200 € lower than the closest competition. Even in Helsinki there were cars to be had for Midsummer. If you want an EV the closest was in Lappeenranta, though.

Terrible idea: an author writes a book, but instead of releasing it, they train an LLM on it, and release the model.

So readers can ask the LLM to generate text based on it, but can never know the original text.

Repairing appliances with drill and metal wire. This is a Miele vacuum cleaner so I’m sure you can actually get a replacement lid, but I simply couldn’t be arsed to figure out how to procure one.

@helenajambor This is kind of interesting because I had a look at this one Finnish website* with the explicit goal of informing people that they don’t need to throw stuff away at the ”best before” date and it literally had nothing on it. Seems like an underconsidered case, but seeing how fermented milk products were used before fridges it makes sense that they keep a while (with increasing risks, to be sure!)

Trying to make a Win III projection centered on the Pacific.

Is there any good way to deal with this rendering problem in QGIS, when shapes are split by the projection but then drawn as connected across the map?

@stevefaeembra Thanks! Not sure if I missed some crucial step, but tried that after first reprojecting the layer and then converting it to lines, literally no difference whatsoever (layer is Natural Earth ne_10m_bathymetry_G_4000)
