Wow,
As a fan of both Isotype and Marie Neurath’s work and Herbert Bayer’s World geo-graphic atlas it is a bit weird and disappointing to read how the latter plagiarized the former! Article from 2017 by Eric Kindel.

It can be difficult to come up with a single infographic that summarizes a complex topic without hiding more detailed information. I think this example from The Guardian is excellent. The estimation of the coming climate crisis in a nutshell. “Planet is headed for at least 2.5C of heating with disastrous results for humanity, poll of hundreds of scientists finds”

So, Danish illustrator and graphic designer Preben Dahlstrøm, a true master of the illustrated field guide in the 1970s: I’m trying to find some biographical information on him – but I have nothing more than that he might have been born in Odense in 1917 and died in the 1990s.

Anyone with access to older Danish newspapers? Maybe there was an obituary?

/ Does the media help us to make sense of the world?

I'm not sure when this was produced, but seems still relevant...

Is this perhaps to do with the lack of historical context offered in the news? In the first month of the Palestinian uprising or intifada in 2000, out of 3500 lines of text (written down from TV news bulletins), only 17 referred to the history of the conflict. Do you think this is enough to understand why Palestinians might have been staging an uprising.

Is a migraine headache annoying you? Most of you would feel a bit relaxed after popping up painkillers or pills prescribed by your doctor. It is better to follow a combined treatment option that includes medications, stress management, lifestyle modifications and some self-remedies. Since the medicines are associated with adverse effects and risks, it is better to ease the pain attack with a few DIY drinks.

Takalo’s and Männistö-Funk’s ”Polkimilla” made me wonder if anyone combined extensive infographics with comic book storytelling in non-fiction? Their book has a few charts, but I can imagine some exciting hybrid work by fusing comics with Isotype-like charts, for instance.
