We did it! 😍

It’s incredible that 333 people felt strongly enough about Mirlo to collectively raise $17,787! We know we have a lot of work ahead of us to build on our success, but such a show of support tells us that we’re on the right track.

On Kickstarter it’s all or nothing, and we’re going to need your help getting across the finish line.

Our kickstarter campaign has also boosted the amount of people who have uploaded music to Mirlo. When we first started drafting the language for the campaign we had 160 artists with roughly 400 albums, which has grown to 260 artists with 550 albums uploaded! We’re excited that musicians are finding us and trusting us with what they’re making.

What obligation do have to operate at the same scale as or even outperform their venture capital funded corporate counterparts? If a does not succeed in having a similar reach as major corporations with comparable features, should it be considered "low quality" or are there other standards of success worth considering?

For example, if it is considered "failing" to not ever grow to be as big as #Bandcamp or #Patreon, why is that? Are platform coops being held to a different standard than other types of coops?

@wjmaggos Thanks for sharing. These are super valid points, though not all platform coops are asserting they are THE sole replacement for their dominant corporate counterpart. Do you think platform coops need to do so?

Turns out people like swag, our ts and swag bags are sold out, but we still have totes available. We're brainstorming some other swag options--thinking hats and patches?

Dansup has been posting a lot about the WIP and the design choices are very user-centric in a way that the Fediverse sometimes is not
