#AI, #AIEthics and AI Regulation, (Space) #Tech and generally the state of things. Also I write articles about stuff. My own views, obviously. Mistake Not My Current State Of Joshing Gentle Peevishness ..
OK, so I have those genuine blue #IBM socks with the bee logo (as in eye-bee-M) designed by Paul Rand, given to me by an IBM sales rep last year.
They are new and have never been worn.
Not my style but if you are an IBM nerd or #design fan and want them they can be yours. DM me or share if you are hanging out in circles that may be interested.
Please note you will need to be based in the UK as I won't have the nerve to deal with customs and send them overseas.
You’d think folks writing the HTML spec would know the difference between an HTML attribute and inline JavaScript but you’d be mistaken and that’s why we can’t open a modal dialog without client-side JavaScript in 2024.
🤷
PS. What would be great to have is:
<dialog modal open></dialog>
So that a modally-open dialog can be streamed from the server without requiring client-side JavaScript to trigger it open when it loads.
That will, of course, go wonderfully well. Just splendid.
If you want to prepare for the next financial crisis, better start now: Labour has pledged to “unashamedly champion” the UK’s financial services sector, as it promised to cut down 10,000 pages of regulations
It will also set back any idea of re-joining the single market by a decade.
Important: Elon Musk has made yet another announcement with just enough technobabble to guarantee we will not run out of "This-Just-happened" spam videos on youtube. #neuralink
Those who are not following the whole UK Immigration Bill discussion might not understand how outrageous this act is:
The UK government essentially tries to "define by law" that Rwanda is a safe country. It is a law trying defining facts despite the supreme court having found that this is not so.
This is - as Ken Clarke has pointed out - like writing a law saying that "black is white" or "cats are dogs".
@TimWardCam Yes, but the way the immigration bill is written it will prevent the courts from finding other facts. Which it can - in the logic of the government - because judicial review is not a thing in the UK.
Is there anyone here who is using #Firefox ESR 102 or later on Linux version and has random freezes? It seems especially bad when using the search field.
