@emarktaylor@nba good for Rudy but even more so this shows how the generational shift is happening right now across the league with young teams and young stars on the rise
I was rooting for Denver, just because I love watching Jokic play, but I gotta tip my hat to Minnesota. The defense that they played in this series was some of the best defense I’ve ever seen played. No hyperbole. Game 2 and that second half might be the best defense I’ve ever seen played in an #NBA game. Just incredible stuff.
@Conville@NateFederman what's wild is that every few years a team comes along that plays good D and they always punch above their weight, often enough win rings, and everyone goes DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS Y'ALL... and then no one else bothers trying to consciously build around defense and it's like the whole thing never happened.
If you even casually enjoy the #NBA and aren't watching this Nuggets/Timberwolves Game 7 I'm begging you to turn it on right now. This is one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen.
You know, I usually scorn these ridiculously grandiose condos, but I kind of like this one for some reason. Maybe because it's the closest I'd ever get to living in Versailles. But would I want to live here (Mapleton, Brooklyn)?
@dmandl I suspect the difference is simply one of execution. It's a style that's often garish, and it's still pretty over the top for my taste, but the proportions and accents are all very nicely done.
As with the other '74 shows, this China > Rider comes with a full show listen as well. Kreutzmann, presumably driven by fear of death by crushing, is flying again here. Locked in with Weir. Transition peak before Feelin' Groovy is massive, very tight entry into one of the best FG so far. Another big growly Headlight. Kreutzmann goes full DnB mode at 4:25 of Rider (116983).
#NBA#Pacers
The pacers need more killer instinct. I think they'll still win this one, but you can feel them pushing less and letting the lead fall down a bit.
This isn't the only time so far this playoffs I've noticed it.
@sigmatank yes. Exactly. This is the moment to push maximum effort. 3 more minutes at max pace and you should have it. But slowing it down now is maddening
rode with neil young & crazy horse again in #bridgeport & so happy i did. got tons of songs i didn't catch tuesday ("barstool blues"! "down by the river"! "dangerbird"! "fuckin' up"!), tour debuts ("when you dance"! "big time"!), & what felt like even deeper #jams ("powderfinger"! "love & only love"!). molina & talbot have always had their own special pocket & it's so rare/cool to hear a rhythm section age with their singer into something even heavier, if less nimble. also, a j. mascis sighting.
Things people say when they don't understand what fascism is. And this one I believe is actually honestly against fascism. They just don't know anything they didn't "learn" on social media or YouTube.
These people are the same ones that allowed the Brown Shirts and the Nazis to win in 1922 and 1932.
5/18/79. Reconstruction w/the Irish folk-rockers, Horslips. The first night of a two-night booking at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco. Of note, the take on the Lightnin' Hopkins tune Someday Baby—w/Jerry on vocals—is completely boss. Listen up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQHMA7XAxmg
