A direct democratic process could be mandatory, yes, since individuals bear responsibility for their own decisions. But an individual cannot be held accountable for what a representative does for the next 4 years, especially since those representatives cannot be recalled, if they fail to deliver on their promises and can misuse the trust invested in them.
There is a difference between a representative and a delegate. The use of prepositions in Greek is telling:
It's bad enough that MAGA thugs are bum rushing us to a Trump dictatorship and, you know, trying to eradicate people like me by stoking fear with the uninformed.
But do they have to be such whiny bitches about it all?
Bro, are your white christian privelges and spray-tan Jesus really that fragile? Are your feelings so hurt that all you care about is revenge?
This grievance shit is getting old and I'm tired of it. Let's vote so hard that these fuckers will truly have something to cry about.
@lisamelton I hope to vote hard enough that some of them, especially the head spray-tanned scumbag, pop a vein, stroke out and croak on the spot. Yes I wish death on all Nazis, even American ones.
punaise je reviens de xwitter, une personne que j'avais mise dans une liste a complètement vrillée, elle rt du printemps républicains 🙃
(et elle est suivit par pas mal de mon ancienne TL)
@luciedigitalni All my electricity bills are estimated. Am in ancient public housing unit. Have been told an accurate counter can be fitted, but they won’t pay, I won’t pay and I’m damn sure my landlord, Housing ACT, won’t pay. I put up with it because my bills are reasonable.
@MyView I am very motivated to not pay my energy company a cent more than I have to. Last year I had to fight them because the distributor had done an incorrect reading! Luckily I had date-stamped photos of the meter!
If you had told my 10-year-old Blind girl self that in 30 years i’d be taking pictures of a touchscreen with another touchscreen to find out from a conversational AI down on land how much longer the flight is; and that this is somehow easier than making the airline fix their website so i can read the damn time for myself; she would have been mad, but maybe not entirely surprised
Stress is hard on the body and right now I am certainly feeling it. But I also know that I can remove myself from what is stressing me out-this damn neighborhood and it's HOA. So, remove myself I will. I'm not responsible for these folks. They had time before this to help sort it out. They didn't act. I won't be put between a rock and a hard place by any of them
So my cell provider has no good plan for roaming to Europe. So the last time I was in France, I got a local phone number and a SIM card so I could use Internet while I was there. It was a bit of a pain to get the SIM so I put it somewhere I'd be able to find it* when I next needed it.
Now I can't find it.
Can anyone think of a way to get a French cell phone SIM either without leaving Toronto, or without leaving Charles De Gaulle?
Probably in that one purse I threw away a few years ago.
@mcc If you have any other European SIMs (or SIMs from anywhere else for that matter) it might be worth checking if they support roaming to France? Some countries seem to offer great roaming as a standard thing, I was using a Singaporean eSIM in Japan earlier this year.
@mcc others have mentioned e-SIMs already so I'll just give you a specific reference: I've used Airalo to purchase and install e-SIMs for several countries over the past few years and it has worked well. (Belize, Germany, Iceland, Colombia).
