Sorry @stefanfendt, it’s not a small group of men. It’s a lot of men. But perhaps you’re not categorizing untrustworthy men the way women are.

We’re not safe anywhere we go if men are around… not camping, walking home, dating, working late, dining out alone, stopping at a rest stop... It’s exhausting to always be on guard.

So, sorry you don’t like being thrown in with “men,” but women don’t get a break from being in defense mode. Imagine what that’s like for a moment.

@knittingknots2 Interesting to see this article. I was just talking about this on Friday with a man from Cape Town who was working on a play about how segregated and racist South Africa remains since the (supposed) end to apartheid. He has family still living in townships. Those who married whites were more easily able to move up the economic scale, like his mother. That gave him better education, and thereby career, opportunities. He was very conflicted over that advantage.

Table for one…and a ghost.

This is a favorite table at a favorite restaurant from my youth. I used to go here with my college boyfriend and we’d always request this table. I went back decades later, long after he died unexpectedly, and this is how they set the table without knowing our story… 2 settings, 1 chair.

@Lizette603_23 Yes. He died too young. We were no longer together when he died, but I had hoped someday we’d get back together. He moved to CA for a job while I was still in college. Came back to WA, reached out to meet up, died before we could make it work. Like some kind of twisted romance novel.

@CelloMomOnCars I agree! We’ve had our heat pump for 5 years and it has performed perfectly through all weather, hot or freezing. We live in the mountains and get several weeks of snow most winters. Our house stays pretty consistently at the temps we set. Sure, a 06 F temp day can be a little chilly in the house, but there is no heating system we’ve ever had (and we’ve had them all) where a cold snap didn’t require turning up the thermostat to take the edge off. Our HP saves us money too!
