I drove 80 miles round-trip today with a friend to visit a plant nursery many people rave about.
I found only one native plant in the entire place (my friend said she also saw swamp milkweed), and I was horrified to find them selling Winter Creeper and Burning Bush, both of which are on the list of Top Invasive Plants in Missouri. Not to mention the fact that the Burning Bush look pretty pathetic for the price they are charging.
@gladsdotter That's really a shame. Modern nurseries should mostly stock natives and be all about killing lawns and planting vegetables, fruits, or natives.
It's World Heritage Day in Germany today! In 2017, caves from the #IceAge in the Swabian Jura became UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mankind's earliest mobile art was found in those caves, e.g, the marvellous figure of the #lion man, carved in mammoth ivory ca. 40,000 years ago.
Found in the Hohlenstein-Stadel cave. On display at Museum Ulm.
Each page yesterday took him just a little more than a minute, so this will take >30 mins.
Between that & the testimony readbacks, also expected to take >30 mins, there will likely be >1 hour this morning w/the jury in the courtroom, not actively deliberating.
@Nonilex Me too. Really wasn't expecting this at all. And they reached a verdict after such a short deliberation. Clearly, it was a no brainer. (And thanks so much for the live toots over the course of the trial.)
I am such a nerd. Since I got my converted to electric '76 KZ400 going again I'm using it for all of my around town trips. Here I am loaded for work this morning with art gallery hanging system track and my tool bag.
@ambivalena I wonder if anyone solo driving a Ford F-150 "truck" tank to work noticed and thought, for a second, that maybe, just maybe, they should have a smaller vehicle. I don't know about your country, Lena, but there's a plague of monster vehicles in this country. And each year they get bigger. Below is where we are at now. These pickup trucks, that often have one person in them and no cargo, are literally longer than a WWII tank. (Apologies for the rant.)
