This image is a detail from my watercolor painting American Bald Eagle portrait, which I painted in landscape format. I have cropped it to a modern square format.
I painted this today using three layers of wash. For the first wash, I used a hake; after that I used a rigger. Colors: Ultramarine, Alizarin, Hansa, Green Gold, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Grey. Brushes: hake, rigger. #watercolor#watercolour#art#MastoArt
More experimentation. The sail consists of two triangles of masking tape, placed using a tweezer. The sandy texture is Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna shaved onto a wet wash using a nail file. The grasses were carved out of a wet wash using a plastic card. Colors: Ultramarine, Cobalt Teal, Alizarin, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna. Brushes: hake, 6, plastic card. #watercolor#watercolour#art#MastoArt
A new adventure painting, from our first visit to Muir Woods, a truly magical redwood forest just north of San Francisco. We were there in the late afternoon, and found it low in crowds and high in light rays 😍
This is a #watercolor painting I did a few months ago but hadn't share, until we bought a scanner here in #Greece. It arrived today, I scanned the painting under #Debian#Linux without any issues (or additional drivers), and I fixed the colors with #Gimp. It's the first time I use The Gimp for my paintings (I've used The Gimp on and off since its inception, but not for my artworks). I've been using #Photoshop instead for my collages and paintings, but I stopped my #Adobe subscription a few months ago. It's all #Foss now.
There is a wonderful view from the top of the mountain. The colors blue and purple relax the soul, you can leave all worries behind and find inner peace.
