@microtones I have a new job starting Monday and I got an unexpected tax refund, so you better believe I'm going to catch up with you and complete my Beardsley collection, as well as purchasing all of Daevid Allen's work (I have a bunch but it's mostly copyright violated, not my fault!) and some others.
Greetings from Rouen, a lovely little town with terrible weather but lots of good energy and very affordable housing!
Currently keeping me aural company while I work (I woke up, couldn't go back to sleep and decided to dive back into the blasted article), Noveller's Fantastic Planet (2015)
On my last two albums, I've slid down the path past minimalism and post-minimalism to slow, quiet piano music with changes. I'm still exploring the same compositional concepts, but with harmonic motion.
If you haven't heard the latest yet, you're welcome to check albums out: hollywood staircase and blue in blue in blue.
@microtones I don't usually get much out of slower pieces but I have to say, I really enjoyed variation of a variation. You silenced my anxiety, which is really saying something. IDK how you did it, but I actually feel chill after listening to that. Keep up the amazing work!
For Leap Day, a couple of tracks that didn't fit on the albums they were created to be a part of. Aimless ambient wanderings through a cold world. Bandcamp exclusive, two for the price of one.
Welcome to it's only Saturday...two new pieces for you: variation of a variation, a soft pedal piano in Werckmeister III temperament and griffith observatory, an improvisation in five limit just intonation.
ah...thought I had something and lost interest in it. Maybe finish it later...finished something else. Need to polish that something else after a break. I'll have a new set of ears in a few days.
Tonight we’ll have a listen to the work of Phill Niblock, minimalist pioneer, who left this plane on January 8.
Put your headphones on,or sit yourself in front of a nice hifi.
Dim your screens, relax, and tune in to My Electric, at CJTR.ca/live. The Radioplayer Live app is another great way to listen.
Since I moved recently and I'm still getting settled down, nothing new for Bandcamp this week. There will be more music released before New Ears, for sure.
Take a few moments and check out albums that were released this year:
the sound of the lake at round valley
klang and the silver cord
last day of winter
florescent mondays
come evening, she hunts moths
four winds, two moons, the sky is night
