bikes are better and more accessible than anything tech-bro-gone-analog will construct and beta-test in his garage, a garage that is detached from yet steps away from his newly purchased home in Oakland.
bicycles let you sit, peddle with your feet, and achieve some forward-momentum. these tech-bro-has-a-garage contraptions do none of those things.
Niche thing here, but as far as the new Future Motion GT S-Series goes, i mean, great -- i get that they are into pushing the extreme sport angle of OneWheels -- but meh, this doesn't excite me. i'm not a trail rider, and i'm not into speed. I like street riding, and carving. I hope they don't leave people like me by the wayside. #OneWheel
Still haven't received an email from Future Motion informing me of the #onewheel recall and you can still buy them on their web site.
Are they just hoping no-one will notice? I'm pretty sure it won't go well for them in court if someone gets hurt and THEN finds out they didn't bother to reach out to folks about the recall

I’m not sure how you make a one wheeled device in a skateboard configuration safe seeing as you can just put all your weight on the front which the motor will never keep up with.

Je comprends ce que tu veux dire sur le côté équilibrage, mais le véhicule ne pourrait il pas limiter le fait de pencher en avant ? Ca doit être tricky à mettre en place, je n'en doute pas.
@clawfire Bonnes questions. La loi (depuis fin 2019) dit que les engins de déplacement personnel motorisés doivent être bridés par construction à 25 km/h. À ma connaissance, aucun véhicule gyrostabilisé ne coupera volontairement l'accélération une fois atteints les 25 km/h, pour les raisons évoquées plus haut. Le bridage consiste donc à mettre en place des avertissements (parfois plusieurs, par exemple un premier signal sonore à 23 km/h, puis un autre plus insistant à 25) et aussi un mécanisme qu'on appelle "tiltback" et qui reprend ce que tu proposes.
Le principe du tiltback, c'est de pencher légèrement le véhicule en arrière, d'une part pour fournir un feedback indiquant qu'on a atteint la limite de vitesse autorisée, et d'autre part pour rendre plus difficile l'action de se pencher en avant. Mais même si le tiltback rend cette action un peu plus difficile, il ne l'empêche pas totalement, on peut continuer à accélérer en insistant.

@tk@robby (I feel part of the problem is they’re being sold as these Segway-like devices that anyone can just hop on and use and that’s just not true. You shouldn’t be on a Onewheel unless you’d be happy being on a skateboard or a snowboard.)
Ah yea here we go, I contact #futuremotion as the front footpad starts to separate at the sensor layer and they just reply with:
"We don't sell or ship the components of the footpad and you'll just need to pick up a new footpad set on our website. Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns! "
Edit: i am about 4month out of warrany lmao.
(this means no sensor layer but a bundle of two footpads for $120 + import + shipping if bad luck on availability in germany) #onewheel

kam "leider" lose, gepolstert, aber halt nicht wie erwartet in seiner verpackung und als zwei separate teile.
wirkt sehr solide, nur spaltmaß nach vorne übertrifft leider nicht futuremotion #onewheel :onewheelpintxy:
Does anyone else here have a Onewheel? And if so, does it nosedive when you’re staying pretty much stationary? Maybe more so when you’re staying stationary on an incline?
Not a huge deal but I’d love to know if it’s expected behaviour or whether I should try and get mine serviced.

@milan My bet is the first models are gonna be great for modding but the stock Onewheels are still gonna be better, then the second gen models I think are gonna be amazing!

„please recycle“ reads the box containing the #onewheel front and rear footpads that i was forced to purchase due to the sensor on the front one peeling off with no sensortape or just front sensor pad being available or intended to be made available by #futuremotion
originally i wanted a different rear footpad… this would make this situation even more ridiculous #righttorepair
If you own a #OneWheel, you should NEVER trust Craft And Ride to actually have accurate stock.
I've tried 3 different times over the years to get a new tired for them, "In Stock" they say. 3-4 month delay untill they're in stock they say after taking my money.
