It's not the colour that I'm referring to though, but the dryness of the material. I'm currently conducting an experiment where I'm drying out the tea leaves before adding to the compost bin; in order to reduce the overall moisture level in the compost mixture. I don't regularly have 'brown material' to add to the mix, you see, unless I've been doing some wood carving or other work with natural wood. I don't want to add paper to it because of the chemicals in the ink.
