There is some irony at listening to Starmer urging an election to "Let the people decide", the same Starmer who does not recognise Scotland's right to have a referendum to "Let the people decide". Yes, indeed, we had one in 2014 but materially, the UK has changed. We have elections every five years yet Scotland is continually denied democracy by, in effect, a foreign country, England. Is the union voluntary, yes it is, how then does Scotland leave ?

Well that IS amusing - and I can't say I'm surprised in the least. For Rwanda it's a win:win, get lots of cash and then announce that the Rwandan govt has too much respect for human rights to host the UK's asylum seekers...

The Tories will, at that point, be huffing and puffing and vociferously demanding 'their' money be returned post-haste - but it will have been spent... ๐Ÿ˜‚

China banned dancing for a long time (and the music that would have accompanied it). I think North Korea is still hardcore too these days when it comes to 'foreign culture'. Some school kids just got 10 years in NK for watching South Korean soap operas, I believe.

    No, there are a good many left wing Israelis who don't want this, and some of them were arrested at the recent protest-demanding the return of the hostages. Before that, with Netanyahu's power grab over the judiciary, Netanyahu's govt/police treated dissent with only brutality - it's in the background of that that the Hamas attack occurred (because many IDF were refusing to return to service/back the Net. dictatorship).

    I believe this statement to be wrong, I think most people care but they do not see how their actions could make a difference.

    We have proven that we could reach out to people about the because people care.

    Now there is a question I would like to ask all of you: Do you remember what or who got you interested in composting? What made you care for it?

    Part of it for me is the cost of fertiliser, both for the planet and money-wise. I don't grow much either as I don't have the space to grow much more than a few chilli plants and some herbs.

    It's not the colour that I'm referring to though, but the dryness of the material. I'm currently conducting an experiment where I'm drying out the tea leaves before adding to the compost bin; in order to reduce the overall moisture level in the compost mixture. I don't regularly have 'brown material' to add to the mix, you see, unless I've been doing some wood carving or other work with natural wood. I don't want to add paper to it because of the chemicals in the ink.

    This suggests some kind of negligence in the rollout but I'd argue this is the desired effect. Just as in the US when Republicans are disenfranchising minorities and the disabled, since-if they do vote they're probably not going to vote for the right. Ideally they'll be prevented from voting at all due to not having the correct ID.

    Seems like Sunak wants to pass the responsibility to councils to enforce his ridiculous anti-smoking ideas. So they first will need to issue enough fines to pay the salaries of the new officers-required to enforce this mess. Then it will simply send the vape market underground and make it more dangerous.

    What was needed was ban on marketing to children and vapes loaded with sugar, as well as requiring retailers to recycle.
