Is there a way to turn off the "helpful" correction of hashtags?
On desktop, it tends to destroy the capitalization that I intentionally include for readability, and on mobile, the popup captures the focus and is hard to dismiss, making edits a pain, plus it tends to "eat" adjacent punctuation.
I just want my text field to be a text field pretty please? 🙂

Writing hashtags as I want them not accepting the suggestion and typing a space afterwards works for me, then the correction is cleared. But yes, a way to turn it off would be welcome and the popup on mobile (in FediLab) is annoying.
@erAck Ah, yes, with punctuation, "space plus another letter" (which could be a space) is also necessary to type. That seems to "work".
But still, I'd much prefer if there was no such pop-up at all :)
@larsmb Seconded, @Gargron - please make someone look at this code. I CamelCase all Hashtags to enhance readability and accessibility, but the "helpful" popup seemingly prefers no caps by default. This is annoying.
@larsmb Würde mich mal interessieren, wie viele Bugs Eugen dazu schon geschlossen hat. #CamelCase wird von vielen eingefordert, aber Mastodon arbeitet seit Jahren aktiv dagegen an.
@frumble Ich will ja gar nicht einmal, dass das so von #Mastodon vorgeschlagen wird; das wär schon schön, ist mir aber gerade auch etwas egal.
Im Moment macht diese #-Komplettierung die Eingabe halt kaputt - Groß-/Kleinschreibung, Auswahlzwang auf Mobile, Zeichensetzung ... - wenn ich das in den Settings irgendwo einfach abschalten könnte wäre ich schon zufrieden.
@larsmb Ja und da sage ich doch: Das Camel Case (Groß-/Kleinschreibung) aktiv zu behindern, hat System. Die wollen das genau so, darum wird das auch nicht abschaltbar gemacht.
@frumble Es macht halt außer CamelCase noch mehr kaputt. Wenn dass das einzige wäre wäre es schon etwas weniger schlimm.
Im Zweifel vermutlich ein Grease/TamperMonkey Script oder ne FF Extension, aber ich bin halt auch extrem faul und hoffte, jemand habe sowas vielleicht schon :)
