“The Board and the Governor have put their politics over justice and made a mockery of our legal system.”

Yesterday, Governor Greg Abbott issued a full pardon for Daniel Perry, who killed Garrett Foster, a protester at a Black Lives Matter march in 2020. Special Investigative Correspondent @stevanzetti explains all the context the governor ignored: https://www.texasobserver.org/abbott-pardon-daniel-perry-garrett-foster/

@TexasObserver @stevanzetti This is all about white dominance. Why does the Texas electorate allow this? For God’s sake, there are at least as many women voters as men and whites don’t make up 100% of the electorate there.

@Runyan50 @stevanzetti And unfortunately, actions like this probably contribute to the feelings of powerlessness many feel here.

I know President's can pardon whoever they want even if they are criminals part of a conspiracy that they are involved in. 🤬 Hard to believe, but it's true. Another constitutional provision that wrongly assumed the President wouldn't be a foreign-owned traitor. The question is, can Governors pardon any criminal they want to? That seems to be another dangerous attack on our justice system.

@TexasObserver @stevanzetti

Why wouldn't the Nazi Governor of Texas pardon Nazi killers if no one is going to stop him or do anything about it?

@billyjoebowers
And who voted for that colostomy bag on wheels anyway?
That's the real problem.

@TexasObserver @stevanzetti This is pathetic. Abbott is a disgrace.

@richard_merren @TexasObserver @stevanzetti The "Law and Order" party. The party that "believes in the sanctity of life". The party who opposed violent protests.

Yeah, they were never serious.
