RolloTreadway,

The weather is really not helping my aim of pre-trip laundry.

At least, because it's so ruddy cold, I can warrant putting the heating on for a bit.

Also, both yesterday and this morning, my brain was convinced that I was leaving for my holiday today, rather than Monday, which really did not help me sleep.

@RolloTreadway Boring middle aged woman gadget alert.
I bought a DryPod a couple of years back for those many, many days when putting washing on the line is inconceivable. They're really good, can fit a whole machine's worth of laundry in them, including bedding, and only take about 2hrs to dry the lot.
100% recommend.
Won't help you today, of course. Sorry.

@Greenseer @fkamiah17 @RolloTreadway Or you could consider a dehumidifier with a clothes drying setting, they work very well.

@Roadwarrior29 @fkamiah17 @RolloTreadway Yes, I'm considering that option too. Slightly prejudiced against dehumidifiers (unreasonably) due to one experience of them long ago with a model that was probably from the 70s or 80s. It made such a racket and wasn't that effective. To overcome that mental hurdle, I really need someone to recommend a good compact model for me

Above is the one we have in Cyprus, works well but pricey. We bought an Aldi Easy Home model in the UK, works as well as the Delonghi and it was cheaper.

@Roadwarrior29 @Greenseer @fkamiah17 @RolloTreadway yes, I put it in the spare room then fill the room with 2 or 3 loads on airers. Takes longer to dry than a tumble drier though, at least overnight, so still eats electric but that would be several loads in a dryer

@Beedazzled @Roadwarrior29 @Greenseer @RolloTreadway I can't believe I come back here four hours later and you weirdos are still talking about laundry. 😂😘

    😄

@fkamiah17 @RolloTreadway we use a dehumidifier. Cheaper to run than a heater and useful for airing rooms as we suffer from damp being a modern hermetically sealed house

    RolloTreadway,

@fkamiah17 Ooh. I'll look into that when I get back. Getting stuff dry in spring and autumn is tricky, it's often too warm to put the heating on but also wet outside. Thanks!

@jschwa1 @RolloTreadway My main reason for getting the DryPod was that I don't have (and don't want because of environmental impact) a tumble dryer, not to mention the cost of putting on the heating. I didn't know about the FoxyDry! I got bewitched by the Lakeland catalogue during Lockdown 1 😂
