@mdiluz Slightly off-topic, but what is it with walls of text shared as images these days? Did people get stupider and forget that web can do text content as well? Not only is it inconvenient and inefficient to read, it also further disadvantages people with disabilities, making it harder to use their screen readers.
Fuck this "everything is a screenshot" trend, man.
But if you want to use them, you need a different account for each, which harms discoverability.
Contrast this with #Matrix, where you can have multiple applications use a single account, each in its own matrix room(s), using custom event types, and tailored client apps to access each.
@reiver@techgeeklife@mdiluz Yes, but if I understand it correctly, it will still be a separate account, which reinforces the point I was making.
Posts from that pixelfed account will still not appear as coming from the same mastodon account, so I cannot use mastodon for short blurbs and pixelfed for posting photos, without harming discoverability.
@reiver@ticho@techgeeklife@mdiluz it will ask you to connect to Mastodon and then you will need to create a new Pixelfed account. You still have to manage two different accounts
@reiver@ticho@techgeeklife@mdiluz similar to Google/Apple/Facebook sign in. Bluesky also has something similar by using one app password to sign in to multiple sites
