Does the pixel not let you use your own sounds for alarms? All of my other android stuff has let me do that if I put it in the ringtones folder, but Mr. phone over here doesn’t seem to see them.
@evilcookies98 I am starting to wonder if warren was right. we have tried everything we can think of including clearing the user data for it, so I wonder if you should do a factory reset on it? just a thought? I know you would have to put things back on it again, like your apps, and your music, but that might be your only option at this point. and this is very odd that the other two screen readers work just fine, but not talkback.
@jamminjerry my thoughts exactly. I’m managing for the most part, but typing is really getting on my nerves, and the no actions thing is frying my brain while trying to interact with Mastodon.
@jamminjerry right? My mother might kick me though because I asked her to pick out a wallpaper for me and I don’t know where those lives so I can back them up.
@jamminjerry I like for the people who sometimes have to help me get rid of the stupid Google search bar on my home screen to have something decent to look at while they’re doing it
@evilcookies98 ah, ok. I didn't know you could get rid of that on the pixel launcher. I use nova launcher myself, and I just turn off the search bar stuff.
@jamminjerry honestly, I don’t know if you can because I haven’t tried yet. What’s really hurting my soul is the task of copying all of that music again. That literally took me two hours.
@evilcookies98 holy cow! how much music did you load onto your phone? I have a folder I put on my phone that is 1837 files, and that doesn't take that long.
@jamminjerry there are 250 folders in my main Music folder, and 1245 items in the Deemix folder inside that folder, some of which are single files, and some of which are full albums.
@evilcookies98 I almost wonder if your computer is causing that issue? I don't think I have ever had it error out like that. well one time I did, but it turned out to be a bad USB cable.
@jamminjerry considering my computer is ancient that would not surprise me in the slightest. Sadly, I don’t have another way to transfer stuff or I would.
@evilcookies98 actually yes you can. thatt is what that dongle might do for you. plug the drive into that dongle like you would a computer, and then plug the dongle into the phone. now how you would copy from the drive to the phone I don't know, but that is because it is something I haven't done, but I know can be done. you would use a file manager I am sure of though.
@jamminjerry I accidentally dropped it and it stopped working. That hard drive is just a slippery as this phone is. I’m carrying the phone around in a sock until I can get a case.
@dhamlinmusic thank you. I’m used to them going in the ringtones folder, so I kind of confused me last night. Now I’m going through the exceedingly long process of signing into every account I’ve got. Hopefully my screen reader isn’t tracking my passwords lol.
@evilcookies98 Yeah sadly if you did not already have them synced to google that takes ages. Also yep the sounds thing should be a bit more obvious than it is, but hey at least the phone comes with a pile of ringtones already. You'll find discord and reddit to be a much better experience on android, and docs and word much worse I believe.
@dhamlinmusic if the Jeopardy community would just give up and go elsewhere, I could do what I’ve wanted to do with Reddit for the past several months, give it the boot.
