I went for a short hike up to Chickadee Ridge above Lake Tahoe this morning. I've lived in the Reno area for >30yrs & never hiked up there, I guess because of the crowds. It's a popular spot because the chickadees will feed out of your hand. But today I didn't find any chickadees at the top. Lower down I saw a couple, saw one woman trying to get them to eat out of her hand but she wasn't having much luck so I didn't bother to setup to make detailed photos of the birds. It was a nice hike though.
@elaterite#birds many many years ago when I lived at Lake Tahoe I was cross country skiing. Not sure what trail it might’ve been. This was Northlake Tahoe but indeed, I had a chickadee eat out of my hand! It was a magical experience.❤️
