stesnac,

Using the Mastodon API (that means: not using the internal web server) makes the snac2 experience much snappier. That's expected: rendering and transmitting the html requires more time, no js involved at all.

scooter,

Hmmm. I have been using PWA for everything (Akkoma/Mastodon) because I find apps rubbish.

Suppose I should look at them again and see what works. 🤔

stesnac,

@scooter i like Phanpy, Enafore and Elk. On Mastodon, I generally use the PWA (with Mastodon Bird UI theme)

scooter,

Ohh these are web clients as well. Phanpy looks like it might be a good PWA on mobile.

strk,

@stesnac @scooter what is "the PWA" ? I also like and using it also on hand-held device but it lacks being a share target at the moment so I also use

stesnac,

It's a Progressive Web App - a way to install a web application as an app. Phanpy is a PWA, like the default Mastodon Web App

CC: @scooter

strk,

@stesnac @scooter ah I even posted about that earlier this week, but which one did you refer to by "the" PWA?

stesnac,

@strk @scooter On Mastodon, I mean the "official" PWA, the one shipped with Mastodon (the official web interface), but with the Mastodon Bird UI Theme, also quite appreciated by other BSD Cafe users.
