Just read Simard re trees and their kin --- now I notice (as you do in alt text) the couplings, the groupings the close-in neighbors above ground. Also now (because Simard) constantly imagining how it all looks and feels below the surfaces.
@thomkennon ooh thank you - will have to look that book up! i simply love trees, they are all so unique and many have their own personalities visually! i also love moss and lichen and their relationship with different types of trees etc.!
@Jaycee Yes - its Finding the Mother Tree, Suzanne Simard. We bought a little cabin on a dirt road amidst the pine woods by the sea on St George maine last summer. My neighbor loaned me the book when I started going on about connecting with the woods. I now go out each nite before sleep and just stand there communing with the woods because of how this book changed my sensing apparatus. :)

@Jaycee thx and I only wish it was all year already! We're back and forth between Tenants Harbor and Philly for a little while longer as I still teach in New York 2x a week. Looks like you're Downeast yes? We love that part of paradise almost as much as our little corner of it in midcoast!
@thomkennon ah yes, well it's been pretty desolate these last 4 weeks. I live in Bar Harbor, but I just returned from a two month holiday in South East Asia which was busy and active and it's surreal to come back to such a lack of activity... Still beautiful though! ✨
