I know a lot of people want self driving cars, but did you ever think about how the cops would be able to just program it to bring your ass in for questioning? Just lock the doors, change direction and boom; you’re at the station. No warrant, just hijack your ride 😬
@jqmcd Yeah but there’d be some loophole in the law, or in the terms and conditions of your vehicle that they’d be allowed to do it if they had probable cause
@patrickworld I didn’t think about the policing aspect; that’s a good one! I always said I don’t want to be ‘driving’ and a hacker taps in and steers me off the road. I won’t be driving an internet-connected vehicle anytime soon.

That is true, but an actual self-driving car would give enormous freedom to a whole lot of people dealing with medical conditions that imprison them right now.
So yeah, a totalitarian state could use self-driving cars to extend their reach, but this isn't just about a technology for guys who want to have a ride home after drinking too much
