Republicans didn't want Biden to be the one to pass it because they feel like it's a political win for him. That's not my opinion, that's the prevailing take on why it got gridlocked.

Passing a bill that Republicans would have gleefully supported if Trump were president isn't the win people are making this out to be.

It gets liberals to cheer Biden on for doing heinous shit better than Trump because it proves he’s better at being president than Trump—even though “Trump but competent” is the darkest timeline and they should be ashamed by the degree that Biden has adopted and expanded Trump’s border policy.
