@mpjgregoire I’m not sure. The government already gives homeowners incentives and money in the form of mortgage interest deductions on their taxes. Has that significantly raised the cost of home owning? I highly doubt it.

The bad news was when I got out of the car at the park to view the sky I put my glasses on the car seat. As we drove away later on I realized I didn’t have my glasses. Stopped, yep. I sat on them and totally crushed them. That’s gonna hurt. 💸

Totally worth it though. 🤓

Well the very nice man at Visionworks in Kernersville, NC repaired my broken glasses and he did it free of charge. He said they may not hold together but at least I can wear them until I can get a new pair. New pair… sure, sure! 😬🤓

I finished the second book in the saga titled "The Tombs of Atuan". It's great.

It follows the story of Tenar, a girl taken to an old temple in the desert to be the priestess devoted to the "Nameless Ones", ancient gods long forgotten.

She was very lonely there; all her life changed when she met Ged, the first book's protagonist, who was in the underground labyrinth under the temple looking for an ancient relic. This encounter completely changes Tenar's life.

The main topics of the book are freedom, gender, and the power relations emanating between those, reflecting the anarchist views of Ursula.

I know you’re living the good life now that the Tesla is gone. I remember you saying that you wanted a pet mode in your next vehicle. I don’t know if Rivian was even on your short list, but they just added that functionality to their vehicles.

Hope the EV search goes well & that your wife’s car serves you well until you decide to buy.

@brothercasas Yeah I wish Rivian was more in my price range, I don’t need a large SUV type car. I hear they have smaller, more affordable models on the way but they won’t arrive until 2026. :-(

So far Min’s Civic has been serving I just can’t take the doggo with me everywhere which is sad. Slowly getting used to not having blue tooth, - backup camera, having to buy gas… etc. again.

All done! Took 90 minutes to render, on the dot.

I sorta want to make a 60fps version, maybe at half speed. But that would mean 4x the frames as this one, and I'm not ready to devote 6 hours of render time to this.

Not bad for a half-day's work! 😎

Tesla has texted or called me at least 10 times in the last month to offer incentives if I lease a new car with them after my Model Y ends at the start of May. They are quite litterally desperate.

If I chose to re-up with them I could get quite a deal. I’ve told their reps multiple times I won’t support Tesla as along as Elon Musk is the CEO of the company. Gotta wonder how long Tesla shareholders will put up with him in charge. https://mastodon.online/@electrek/112201815082910986

Some thoughts going from my Tesla Model Y to Min’s 2005 Honda Civic:

Good:

  • No car payment!
  • Lower insurance bill!
  • Civic is fun to drive!🏁
  • Huge view of the road 👀
  • Low to ground - doggo gets in & out on his own 🐶
  • Physical controls FTW! No hunting for nested buttons on a touch screen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • One car in the garage

Okay:

  • Having to buy gas again :-/
  • No bluetooth / hands free
  • Smaller trunk
  • No backup camera
  • Carrying a car key

Bad:

  • Can’t take pooch places cause no dog mode :(
