Loads of work to do today...

PCBs arrive

<distracted by asquirrel mode>

Must build pcbs... :)

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

Well all the important bits ate on, let's see if it works.

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

Slight delay,
It doesn't work, It's an error when populating the PCB , plainly seen in the last photo...

10 internet points and a google free cookie, if anyone can spot the "small" error.

jerry507,

@Extelec Gpio16 doesn’t usually route to pin 1?

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

@jerry507 You win the Cookie and the internet for the day :)

jerry507,

@Extelec woohoo! And ☹️ for you having to desolder all those castellated pins!

@Extelec the only excuse for an upside down Pi is when you want to avoid touching the chips with the foil tray the Pi comes in.

@thejpster @semachthemonkey

Personally I blame @Raspberry_Pi

Every 100 or so Picos, they make one upside down...

What a pain :)

@Extelec
@thejpster @Raspberry_Pi
You should have just used a mirror to reverse everything. I know all the silkscreen would be harder to read, but it is easier than desoldering the Pico!

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

@semachthemonkey @thejpster @Raspberry_Pi Which would have worked apart from physics and reality.

@Extelec "always buy three... One to fit backwards, one to drop on the floor and lose, and one to fit correctly."

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

@LewisWorkshop I do, and this is why I'm running out of space with a loft full of 1-2 of everything.

Extelec,
@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

OK, my slight error was the pico was upside down.

I got this far before realising I'd pulled off some pads on the pcb.

@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

But one pico and another PCB later

It works *first time.

*Because re-soldering the whole PCB again and using a new pico still counts as first time as I hadn't put power on the board.

Doesn't it ?

Ryanteck,
@Ryanteck@fosstodon.org avatar

@Extelec I would say it still counts as first time, it's not another PCB revision so it counts!

@Extelec@mstdn.social avatar

@Ryanteck Vindicated :)
