Something I haven't been able to figure out a good solution for yet: Tilemap Town gets used for both roleplaying and regular chat, and both happen on the same maps but they don't mix very well, so it would probably be a good idea to signal that something is going on so you know what you're walking in on.

You can mark yourself as being in-character, but you currently have to check the user list to see it. Pony Town makes it more prominent with an icon shown above characters, which might be a good idea? It could be something where if you're in-character, it highlights people who aren't, but if you aren't then it highlights people who are? And it could mark chat messages too.

I went ahead and added a /topic command, where you can briefly describe an activity or event going on on that map, and it'll be shown to people entering the map, as well as to people searching for all the maps that currently have anyone on them. I set it up so that when no one is on the map anymore the topic clears itself.

I guess the best solution to letting people know what they're walking in on is to just tell them?

Also added a command to check where an entity is because it's weird that was missing? And while statuses are actually a totally freeform text field, I did add recognition for some statuses that let you mark yourself as looking to RP without having to describe it as being in-character.

@NovaSquirrel What happens if people go "yeah I'm in-character!" and EVERYONE is In Character and I'm just myself and have no one to talk to?

Like there's a difference between "in character" and "is doing a scene" – and I can do scenes /without/ being a character. It's completely orthogonal.

@frost Good point, I guess there should be a separate "open to engage with a scene" flag of some sort, but I'll want to find a concise name for it.

Of course just being able to directly mark that something is going on would solve most stuff.

@NovaSquirrel "in scene"/"in RP" might work and is pretty concise!

@frost Sure, that makes sense

@NovaSquirrel what if you could decide to see only players or to see only chatters in your own settings ?

@PypeBros I dunno if I'd go the length of hiding players with how low the player count currently is, but if it did end up this huge thing then yeah that might make sense
