@Migueldeicaza It’s still a place that’s in my daily reading. I don’t comment there these days, esp since my account has been “lost” a few times now and I’m tired of bothering. It’d be served fine as a feed in RSS if I bothered.
As someone who had a four digit Slashdot UID in 1998 (before they migrated all the accounts and renumbered them in…1999 or so?):
I don’t know if it was always weirdly right wing and I was just too young/naive to notice or not but…they got weird. I remembering checking them out for fun in 2016 and they had front page stories espousing Hillary Clinton conspiracy theories.
@Migueldeicaza At this point, it has basically devolved into quasi-moderated content farm.
I have to say though, a part of my soul hurts when a sales rep from sourceforge tries to pitch me on a paid placement. Real “kiddo, back in the day” vibes.
