“But in Bramble, Deloitte said it was "impossible" to know which Fujitsu staff had this unrestricted access [to the UK Post Office financial data] prior to 2015 because there were no records of who they were or what they did.” https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68663750

People killed themselves over this, I kind of think the people who knew it was happening and lied about it should be executed.

Also it’s always horrifying when I realize that almost every company has the laziest most inadequate security and audit processes known to humans.

Like on a sane planet, the discovery that people can move money around in a system with no audit should be a HOLY SHIT NO FIX IT NOW situation & yet here on planet earth it’s mostly not. Which is bonkers?!!?

@ouinne trying to get people to A) understand the nature of the problem and B) take the problem seriously is the worst part of my job.

@senanthic me too, my entire morning was explaining that we don’t have a specific data element populated in the data warehouse all the time but no one knows why that decision was made or by what logic it’s imported or omitted, it was super fun.

@ouinne I sometimes seriously wonder how we work at the exact same place when we don’t actually.
