@GottaLaff Poilievre's biggest campaign idea is not to campaign at all. He's not arguing a "better idea" , he's dismissing reasonable Canadians who value good sense and sound judgment. He seeks out the willfully ignorant, the miscreant and the pathetically naive. With these he's well insulated from criticism & analysis. He can offer contradictions, ignorance's, prejudices, out-right lies, and have them left unchallenged.
@GottaLaff@pinhman He's trying. But he's not a shambling manchild with no ability to, or interest in, controlling his base impulses. He's cynically playing on and counting on the ignorance of his supporters rather than sharing that ignorance. He might very well be more dangerous within Canada as a result, although Trump is magnitudes more dangerous to the world bc of the military, legal, and economic weapons he can swing around with all the precision of any angry toddler.

@GottaLaff someone on the fedi nicknamed PP as “Squinty McProudboy”… Squinty because he’s ditched his glasses to soften his elitist f-you public image. And McProudboy for meeting with and supporting the Proudboy founders and organizers of the “Freedom Convoy”. A small but vocal group of anti-government/anti-vaccine truckers and extreme right wing whack-a-doos who travelled across Canada to gather in, and ultimately shut down, our nation’s capital city (Ottawa).

Initial response was to block that hashtag cause the guy makes my skin crawl and my stomach roil. Following it instead to learn all I can do to prevent that $&*/ from fucking up our world. Besides VOTING !
