Time to start teaching people the facts. Were his ancestors slave owners? Or were his ancestors the poor suckers who were forced to fight for them? Had to desert because of lack of food or equipment? Return permanently disabled? #warishell

"Heritage"?! The heritage of treason in the service of kidnap, torture, rape, murder, humiliation, and terror? How will they commemorate it?
@IveyJanette The entire treason lasted under 4 years. It would be so easy to promote state heritage. It would include everyone, and suggest no one need be enslaved. Why "Confederate Heritage"?
Edit (Actually clicked on the article. He's continuing a tradition of honoring “all who lost their lives in this war.” traitors who died waging war against the US Army and US dead, I think. Good to know.)
