@rasterweb The horseshoe theory is right. Extremists are very similar. Right-wing extremists control a political party, which thankfully isn't that effective because it's more of a personality cult. Left-wing extremists are a fringe minority without much influence in the other party. I just don't want them to figure out how similar they are and start working together toward real non-personality-cult policy goals.
@cgervasi The left extremists I see are usually wanting things like free health care and free education for all, house the people, living wages, etc. and the right extremists literally want people to suffer and die after their rights are taken away. Not sure how those compare.
@rasterweb They both lead to suffering and death, but I have way more understanding of people who intend to make things better than for those who have a sick desire to see people hurt.
@rasterweb The very extreme cases are Stalin (left) or Hitler (right). Neither one of those is happening right now. With Trump, though, there is a real risk of going in that direction.
If a democratic socialist acted like Trump and controlled a party (totally happening at this time), it would be just as bad.
@rasterweb yeah, I’ve had this happen too. I call it out but that’s me. Well “call out” is wrong, I ask for definition regarding the left and try to discuss from there.
