War1gus and Wargus are open-source engines for Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2.

If you are a Windows user, they provide installers.
If you are a Linux user, you can download source tarballs. Then follow the build instructions. That are only provided as… YouTube videos?? What the fuck?!

Well done War1gus/Wargus devs, you successfully ensured that I am never going to use, support or endorse your software in any way. I don’t know if your choice was driven by a lack of respect for potential users or simply incompetence, but I do not really care.

I am going to keep playing Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2 using DOSBox and WINE. At least the developers of these had the decency to provide real build and install instructions, using written words.
