Work: This is a service position
For anyone not in the know, students are limited to working 20 hours a week during the semester.
This is asking (notoriously overworked and underpaid) grad students to either spend 75% of their research time not doing research, or volunteering this time outside of work.
It's also unfair to the professional researchers who are being asked to do this without being paid, but at least the professionals have a "service" requirement as part of their yearly evaluation that this fulfills.
They asked me to do this on Friday afternoon.
I received an email today (tuesday) at 7:30am requiring an answer because their first meeting is today.
My dudes, that is less than 2 business days. It has been checks notes 10.5 business hours since you asked, and less than a day since you told me you weren't paying me. 💀
