Me, a year ago: I’m so glad they’re building high density housing right in downtown. Without the parking minimums, it’ll be perfect for students and transit, this kind of high density walkable urbanism is what’s needed.

@dan@lzg@regehr one of the unexpected things that shook me on the website was that they keep referring to the meat as “seasoned” beef, mentioning seasoned repeatedly
@Doomed_Daniel@dave_andersen@dev@dan@lzg I'm very fond of steak tartare but I've gotten sick to the stomach from it three maybe four times? I mostly trust the meat but my guess is that keeping the grinder sufficiently clean is very difficult. I'm a slow learner about some stuff.
@regehr@Doomed_Daniel I eat pork as my main protein (like a lot of people do in this part of the world) and think it's generally the best default type of meat for almost every culinary purpose, but I would not touch raw pork for any amount of money.
I always found the idea of eating raw minced meat disgusting (despite being German).
When you buy fresh minced meat you're told to cook it well and eat it within a day or two because there's such high risk of getting sick (allegedly) , unless it's Mett, then you can eat it raw? Makes no sense..
Though I guess nowadays you're much more likely to catch salmonella or similar instead of trichina worms - not as bad, but still not desirable, IMO ;)
@regehr@dev and so close to attractions -- only a quick 2.5 hour drive from the chapel at the geographic center of the contiguous United States, if you manage to dodge the tornadoes!
