We all have biases. Every single one of us.

They're shortcuts, heuristics, and rules of thumb that help us navigate a complex world. Our brains are wired for them.

@Daojoan Reminds me of a Joan Didion quote from The White Album:

We tell ourselves stories in order to live...We look for the sermon in the suicide, for the social or moral lesson in the murder of five. We interpret what we see, select the most workable of the multiple choices. We live entirely, especially if we are writers, by the imposition of a narrative line upon disparate images, by the "ideas" with which we have learned to freeze the shifting phantasmagoria which is our actual experience.

@Daojoan Joan, time to combine your article on habits and this one. Maybe it’s time to develop habits on ingraining new biases that work for the current situations. As you say we all have them, why not make them work for us like good habits.
