@wnj - I have been enjoying πΆπ‘œπ‘šπ‘π‘™π‘’π‘₯ π΄π‘π‘’π‘™π‘–π‘Žπ‘› π‘‰π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘–π‘’π‘‘π‘–π‘’π‘  by Herbert Lange and Christina Birkenhake - not easy, but full of beautiful material. Complex abelian varieties are the 'best' complex tori. The same authors have an earlier book πΆπ‘œπ‘šπ‘π‘™π‘’π‘₯ π‘‡π‘œπ‘Ÿπ‘–, but for some stupid reason I haven't looked at that yet.
