@ipg valve has always weirdly had a free pass to do a lot of shit considering it led the charge on the all digital future where we have less consumer rights and don't own anyhing.
@Velveteen as much as i'm fine with the tradeoff (less restrictive DRM systems are "a compromise" and i'd much prefer a Steam to a SafeDisc), it is very weird how people criticised GfWL back in the late 00s for "requiring you to link an account for your disc games", something Valve got the ball rolling on in 2004
