Desperately trying to come up with plans to see the aurora tonight, with little success… 🥲

@brunoph I considered grabbing an Evo and driving up Sea To Sky and stopping in Squamish somewhere, but I guess there would be too much light pollution. Not to keen on driving that highway on a Friday night, though.

@arroz yeah… I'm probably taking the bike to spanish banks beach and hope for the best

@arroz even if I can't see it much with the naked eye, I should be able to capture it on camera

@brunoph Yeah, that might just work (and if it's reflected on the water, it's glorious). I'll see if I feel up to it tonight or not. It would probably work better on a place a few dozen meters above the water level, but I think most of Marine Drive view is blocked by trees.

I wonder if Burnaby Mountain would work… although it might be also messy on a friday night.

@arroz yes. All of these places are sadly still within the bulk of the light pollution blob. Another thing I considered is Bowen island, but that also means spending the night… https://www.cleardarksky.com/maps/lp/large_light_pollution_map.html
