"“I had no involvement whatsoever in the flying of the flag,” Justice Alito said in an emailed statement to The Times. “It was briefly placed by Mrs. Alito in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”
Interviews show that the justice’s wife, Martha-Ann Alito, had been in a dispute with another family on the block over an anti-Trump sign on their lawn, but given the timing and the starkness of the symbol, neighbors interpreted the inverted flag as a political statement by the couple.
...
The half-dozen neighbors who saw the flag, or knew of it, requested anonymity because they said they did not want to add to the contentiousness on the block and feared reprisal."
I couldn't help but remember this cartoon after reading the article about Alito last night.
This is some bad stuff, folks.
Our court is compromised.
They currently hold the decision to immunity of the president.
It seems uncomfortably likely that the compromised court may strike democracy, no man above the law, for the 🍊💩🤡.
Will we get through this and save democracy this year? #USPol
@Waitnwallflower
It's so scary. I was absolutely certain of this when I listened to the last case on immunity.
And they're there for LIFE!!!
I only hope that there are enough of us out there voting.
And even if DJT loses, he's still going to attempt another Insurrection.
@Skepticat
I prefer he try another insurrection vs. handing him the White House. One option has hope, the other dooms this country for generations, like other lost democracies.
