No judgment, but curious if you still regularly in your work, shopping or daily life. Will reply with mine later below. 😷

@kitoconnell
I generally don't except in medical spaces, or other situations where I simply can't socially distance. Social distancing is my natural state though... I had several waves of covid go through my work space without catching it around people who were actively hostile to masking. I got covid for the first time last month when a sick person invaded my space and coughed ON ME. A mask would have saved me there. I don't think there was any ill will, he was just coughing nonstop.

@kitoconnell the elastomeric makes me feel like a bug person, which is aversive, but it also feels like a small portable superpower

Yes, still do. There's been no real improvement in the situation in 2 years. At work many of my coworkers wander around maskless, get sick for a week or two, come back, and again wander around maskless until they get sick yet again. It's like working in a zombie movie.

rabirk,
@rabirk@mastodon.social avatar

@kitoconnell No, I rarely wear a mask any more.

gnomic_heresy,

@kitoconnell

We mask in every indoor public space, except when it's actually not possible (like showering at a campground public bathroom or at the climbing gym's locker rooms, or while getting a dental exam). We are considering loosening our personal restrictions to encompass something like once a month being indoors unmasked someplace that is not super crowded, like at a restaurant on an off day or swimming at an indoor pool, once it's not outdoor swimming season anymore. When we are going to someone else's house, we mask, unless we and they test beforehand. We are considering loosening up on asking other people to test, unless they've been exposed or have symptoms, but I think it's just more likely we will continue not going inside people's houses unless they are close friends or family and have similar levels of caution.

@kitoconnell in all sorts of transit, planes, buses, etc. and their terminals. Hospitals and similar. And the super market and similar places where there would be a lot of people coming and going

@kitoconnell Yeap. Inside the Plant and at almost any store. I rarely unmask while shopping and only if I know the air flow and filtration system used .
Living with MCAS and don’t want to combine that with Long Covid : my quality of life is already a bit wonky don’t want total wonk

CuriousMagpie,
@CuriousMagpie@mastodon.social avatar

@kitoconnell Sometimes. I live in a rural area with very low transmission rates, am retired so don't have to worry about a workplace, I only socialize outside even in winter, my visits to the grocery store are brief and mostly during times when the store is mostly empty. I wear an N95 to medical appointments.

TeeEllCee,

@kitoconnell I only still mask at medical offices/facilities and on public transportation.

strangebirds,

@kitoconnell N95 mask when shopping or in public enclosed places (not at the outdoor farmer's market but yes at the library and grocery store). Only one still masking at work. I haven't had Covid (or the flu or RSV which both went around work). If I eat a restaurant I try to sit outside or eat a few bites and then remask to converse with my friends.

teslas_moustache,

@kitoconnell pretty regularly. I haven't really this week though. I have it on my wrist in case a customer comes in. I mostly work alone. It's just hot and uncomfortable tbh.

@kitoconnell Whenever I go out.

@kitoconnell I'm not currently masking at work or public places.

michaelmeckler,

@kitoconnell Yes, I still wear a mask in most public settings

aehdeschaine,
@aehdeschaine@zirk.us avatar

@kitoconnell Yes, in all indoor public places (though on the few occasions I've had to be eating in a restaurant, I do give in and quickly eat, then remask). I also usually mask in indoor private places when I'm with people I don't live with or regularly associate with. I am the only one in my family still doing this, so sometimes the social pressure gets me and I unmask inside. It can be lonely, but I find this bolstering: https://aus.social/@DenisCOVIDinfoguy/110228769625384569

@kitoconnell Currently only masking in airports and on planes.

I carry one on me all the time though. Went to an art show in the winter that was so crowded I did get anxious and put it on.

If I’m interacting with a service worker who is wearing one, I usually put it on to engage with them.

Located in Minneapolis—received last booster Sept 2022.

JosephMeyer,
@JosephMeyer@c.im avatar

@kitoconnell I wear one indoors in public places, except when eating out which I do rarely. I don't typically wear one outdoors.

bloodravenlib,
@bloodravenlib@mas.to avatar

@kitoconnell

I recently stopped wearing it at work, but for the most part, we are all vaccinated and the building is not crowded. I also spend much time in my own office.

Now, when I go to crowded places, I do put it on. Going to Walmart around here, for example, is taking your life in your hands, so I do there and in other crowded places.

I do have all my COVID shots up to date (and I figure at some point I have to have some faith in the damn vaccine).

PhilSalkie,

@kitoconnell
Mask on anywhere indoors, mostly work remote. Only go to restaurants if they have outside seating. Haven't been to a large conference since 2019. HEPA and UV in the house air ducts. Jabs up to date, no covid so far.

fritzoids,
@fritzoids@mas.to avatar

@kitoconnell , if I have to put on my shoes then I will also put on my FFP2 respirator. It's just easier to combine it with something I'm already used to doing.

jetsilver,
@jetsilver@ohai.social avatar

@kitoconnell I still wear a mask at work and for routine errands like grocery shopping.

sutureselves,
@sutureselves@disabled.social avatar

@kitoconnell A respirator, not just a mask.

CheaslyChorbert,

@kitoconnell yes. i still wear a mask every time i go out to local shops or to healthcare appointments or use public transport.

i don't go out often anyway because i have a chronic illness which precedes the pandemic.

i caught covid multiple times, including from family members who insisted on visiting me at home yet refused to mask up.

simplenomad,
@simplenomad@rigor-mortis.nmrc.org avatar

@kitoconnell I work from home so no mask there, but I if out and about and indoors. If I am at a park I do not wear one. I rarely eat out, but if I do I wear a mask until I have food in front of me and I'm eating, or lift it while drinking through a straw. I even wear one when pulling up to a drive-thru window.
