Want to thank @alexdeltax for making proper Ukrainian telegram relays.
Now I can share Ukrainian news here with proper attribution, media and links. This is something that is missing in osintukraine feeds and made that monotonous and grey.
Precisely the goal of the russian part of the archive @ru and @ruvideos
and we have the 2022 video archive at
https://ruvideos.osintukraine.com
I’ve seen countless wars disappear from youtube,telegram, twitter and elsewhere, this archive is here to stay (even under its currently ugly form)
@benb@ruvideos is there anything from the first days of the conflict? I can see just from Apr 2022. I'd like to see the first videos at 4am Feb24th (the folk at the checkpoint in Crimea, Hostomel, Antonovsky bridge, The Kharkiv column and so on). Maybe the most touching phase of the invasion, it should be retrieved to avoid losing them
@edolis@ruvideos on that day and for the following weeks, we were still building the first iteration of this whole madness of archive.. So if you have links to items that should be archived, I'm very much interested, they could be added to the Archive and flagged as origin of the war but if telegram doesn't have those links, there is nothing I can do about it.. I noticed a lot of videos are already missing on their side.. Hence the Archive :) #datahoarding
@benb@ruvideos my timeline is a bit useless as many videos are from accounts which are now dead/suspended. But I noticed the telegram timeline has still got history you can search by date. Not using telegram I don't know many channels, I just checked with https://t.me/raddar_top_ua and 24th feb is there.
It would be an idea saving this material somewhere. Of course yet another item in a long todo list.
the Бузковий парк video came to my mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-Y_-6w6W9w
@benb@ruvideos maybe it can be done for notable telegram channels. I think there are videos which must not be lost, for UA memory.
They are even stronger/same level motivation for national identity than Euromaidan. Before they get lost since twitter and youtube and telegram have no commitment/interest in keeping history. And maybe a channel bot "On this day happened" could be made to remember relevant video selected by users.
I'm probably missing the elephant in the room but I have searched and I just can't find anything in the UI or the menu to manage follow requests on a private account...
@ru@ruvideos it's done..
Should take some time for past toots to become private.
Not sure how this works.. When you enable privacy after so many toots... 🙄
Well, now you can track & monitor Russian & Ukrainian Telegram posts on #mastodon, translated and archived with videos/images from a selection of 90/60 telegram channels available here https://osintukraine.com/sources
@edolis@ua@ru@uavideos@ruvideos hey thanks for the feedback, actually this is a recurring issue with this specific channel and there is not much I can do right now.. Tg-archive has some weird bug when there is posts with multiple medias files or with certain media filetypes, in this case, this channel it's happening all the times, but not with others.. It's been dragging me nuts since last year..
