[ I really like the multi-processing capabilities, I wonder how hard would it be to create a ZX-BERUS with a handful of Z80s instead of a hybrid dual-headed Z80/6502 chimera. All in all, an excellent project and there's a lot of work that would be reusable to bootstrap anyone who would like to build a SMPeccy. Handy!🙂 ]
Oh look! Something has happened to #CERBERUS2100: it's sprouted 7 new colors, simultaneously displayed! No changes in the manufacturing files, just an update to FAT-SCUNK, done in-system, in secs. Those claiming that #CERBERUS2100 only has 2 colors are in trouble now. 🤣 @olimex
(THREAD) Hi everybody. So, this is really happening: the #CERBERUS2100 PCB has been sent to the manufacturers and parts have been ordered (I'll drag-solder the main chips myself). I'm very happy with the design, ... (1/3)
I sincerely have no idea how Movie Vertigo managed to do this; let alone the dynamic mode switching! It's truly amazing and a delight to see. I hereby declare Movie Vertigo ultimate #CERBERUS2100 expert. https://youtu.be/YAkdrkZGHiM?si=Uxmbrw2_-g4o1IAp
It's happening! Still missing the two CPUs, buzzer, pull-up resistor banks and most of the connectors. But already tested: in-system bootloader burning, sketch upload via serial, and clock generation circuit. #CERBERUS2100, the 'Agon' of hardware enthusiasts! @TheByteAttic Got my CPLD JTAG programming cable here and I could reprogram #cerberus2100 for the coloured characters, they now work. Now I can try to get colour into my FORTH games.
Two more #CERBERUS2100 units are cooking... They will come out tender and just right. 😋 That's four prototypes done, which are also the first four development units, as everything worked (I did do some fine-tuning for the final board, but that's just that: fine-tuning). https://youtu.be/qvhMcnAZZ-g
The hand-made production line of #CERBERUS2100 courtesy units is operating at full power. One more to go. The @olimex custom case is fantastic! This is the only classic-like 8-bitter you will ever need, with a #Z80, a #6502, a DMA-based expansion slot, and two BASIC interpreters!
