This is how I make Gin & Tonic at home now. Not sorry.
Build in glass, stirred on ice:
1 oz Plymouth gin
1 oz St. Germain
1/2 oz lemon juice (super juice)
2 dashes grapefruit bitters
4 oz tonic (1/2 bottle fever tree elderflower tonic if you’re up for an elderflower adventure)
Decided to mix up some cocktails ('tis the season, and all that rot) so pulled a card from a cocktail deck of cards we've got that included everything in our drinks stash. It was only after we sipped them that we realised we'd just made margaritas for the most part. But who doesn't like margaritas? Mad people, that's who.
Here it is, our fully updated and revised guide to making the delicious, nutritious (well, that's a stretch), Irish Coffee! The world's first breakout coffee cocktail!
And we present a modern variant of it later on in the article. Enjoy!
Very drinkable. Not terribly complex. Numerous recipes from 50:25:10 to huge quantities of gin, vodka, St Germain & lemon juice. Are we talking giant cocktail glasses and multiple straws?
I have a thing about drinks called "Something Martini" when there's no gin. And sometimes not vermouth either. Hence the silly name.
Wow. The recipe that won Punch’s blind Eggnog tasting uses a split base of rum, cognac, and bourbon. I’ve done that for many years, more surprisingly though the recipe calls for PF 1840 and Old Grand Dad. I’ve been using Bonded Old Grand Dad, PF 1840, and OFTD for several years now. I also use a mix of whole milk and heavy cream. My recipe has minor differences, and I don’t pre batch, but otherwise they’re very similar. #Cocktails#Cocktail#Rum#Bourbon#Cognachttps://punchdrink.com/articles/best-eggnog-cocktail-recipe/
Zoom Happy Hour with the inlaws tonight. The single greatest thing to come out of the pandemic. Inlaws are much easier to tolerate with a #cocktail in your hand.
Another crazy day yesterday! I completely forgot to do my #Wordle, thus breaking like a 160 day streak. We did our grocery shopping. The #cocktail of the day was a blueberry mint margarita. The blueberry mint syrup is really tasty and we have an incredible proliferation of mint "weeds" growing in our backyard. I watched The Hunted, a "minor" Friedkin recommended by the Read Max newsletter. It was pretty good in a First Blood kind of way.
50ml Jamaican Dark Rum, 20ml Lime, 10ml Cointreau, 5 ml dbl syrup, 4 Raspberries, shake, dbl strain, raspberry garnish
Lots of versions, usually with raspberry syrup, rocks, crushed ice and tiki ganish. Tonight, it's more like a Raspberry Daiquiri. Don't you just love late spring, early summer? Cool, drizzle, first summer fruits.
150ml tomato juice
15ml lemon juice
16 drops of Tabasco
8 drops of Worcester sauce
Half barspoon of horseradish sauce
A pinch of salt
Grounded pepper to taste
Shake&Strain in a tumbler with a big chunk of ice and garnish with a lemon twist.
Just what you need to be satisfied without getting fat.
