That's the last of the square bales I have down into the manger. Tomorrow I'll have to bring a round bale over the hill – which means I'll have to borrow a tractor, because my own still isn't fixed.

Meet Einriði the Robin, who visits us daily on the Croft.

In Norse mythology, the Robin was associated with the god Thor and Einriði is another name for Thor in one of the Sagas, composed around the 10th Century.
It means “The one who rides alone”

Dealing with a mess of interlocking technical failures this morning. The wind turbine has stopped working: cause unknown, but I'll probably have to lower it to diagnose; tractor won't start because it's battery is too low, but I can't charge it because I don't have electricity, so it's going to be even more than usually hard to lower the turbine.

Sigh.

I got a tiny black auracuana cross cockeral chick in this summers hatchlings so I am getting an Ayam Cemani hen to breed with him ,In the past I have managed to create birds that looked exactly like crows and laid olive eggs but they were huge ,crow sized and all had nasty temperaments and couldnt go in with birds smaller than themselves ,hes got a lovely nature so I am hoping my new crow hens might be nicer and smaller
