I’m writing TILs and ready for a next step. I tried a micro blog but it didn’t “fit.” I do have a website with a blog, but I’m looking for something between a TIL and an actual post on my blog. Thoughts?
@lacey I’m having this same problem and have thought about trying to get a writing cohort of some kind together. @CodenameTim put something like this together at #DjangoConUS last year and just one morning helped me a ton to get some writing done. If that sounds at all like something you’re interested in let me know 😄
When I gave my talk at #djangoconUS last October I got some really good feedback about how polished it seemed, especially for a first time speaker. I even got interviewed by @kjaymiller about it!
I wanted to write about my process to give an idea of how I did it, just in case it's helpful for anyone else looking to give a talk.
The last interview in this #DjangoConUS perspectives, I sat down in Panda Studios with Andrew Knight. We talked a bit about the benefits of the conference local to you and the feelings of Keynoting for your hometown crowd!
In this interview, I talk with @ryancheley who flew across the country to give his first conference talk about contributing to the Django Project for the first time.
Ryan gave a great talk about success, failure, more failure, and more success.
I'm happy to begin sharing some of the perspectives of some folks that I interviewed at #DjangoConUS.
Let's start with the Django Software Foundation President Chaim Kirby who has a fantastic announcement about his plans for next year!! Check it out on the #PythonCommunityNews Youtube Channel!

Thank you @djangocon 🐂 for a wonderful experience as a first time attendee! I met so many amazing people ❤️, gave a lightning talk with @adamghill ⚡️🤩 , and learned a lot from all the speakers 🧠
Huge thanks to everyone that made it possible and I’m so happy to be a part of this community! 🥳🙏
Leaving Durham after and amazing time at #DjangoconUS. Thanks to everyone that made this an amazing conference. I can’t to see you all again next year!
This morning during the DjangoCon US 2023 sprints, with Will Vincent we showed his Django Microframework repository based on Carlton Gibson 2018 talk, and then I showed my optimized version. 🤯
