After a somewhat exhausting day in Akihabara, I don’t have bags full of stuff but a careful selection of favorites.
Fūko and Andy from (FuRyu prize figures)
All 4 Cures from Go! Princess (I was really lucky to find the whole team!)
Komugi Keychain (proof that I found the Pretty Store at Tokyo Station which is hard enough 😅)
A very cute Cure Custard rubber keyholder
A Lio/Galo switch by artist Kamiyan that I missed when it came out

Oh hey, it's New Article Day.

In today's piece, Erica Friedman explores December's Comitia doujinshi comics market. And, while it's not as famous (or chaotic) as Comiket, it offers an equally valuable look at Japan's doujinshi scene.

I'm somehow really embarrassed about this even though I drew it on a whim after reading this fic by vikuo-kuma@ tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/vikuo-kuma/740189285865701376/focus?source=share

It took me about three days streaming from scratch (initially paneling and storyboarding). I've come a long way from being too scared to touch Clip Studio Paint for drawing manga and I still have so much more to learn. I still want to try out Krita!

We had the opportunity to speak with @nekobungi, a manga artist who recently released the emotional and beautiful Neko Can Dream in English! We got to talk about telling queer stories in both manga and video game format, and addressing contemporary themes through retro limitations!

As a young fan, I used to love and certain creators. I wonder what they're doing after all these years. Minami Haruka seems to be (relatively) active as a BL artist. Miike Romuko also does a lot of BL, I believe, though her style is very different now.

Tokumi Yuiko (Hakka-Ya) wrote and , but I'm not really into this sort of stuff. Mucchiri Muunii (Hello World), quite possibly my favorite artist, did a bunch of original short stories at some point.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be known about Kusamakura Tabito, a artist who did at least one awesome Dark Kingdom story and broke my teenage brain (in a good way) by depicting Jadeite in lacy feminine lingerie. :blobmiou:
