Here's a thing; if you are going to order food from a delivery company like #UberEats, #Foodora, #Wolt, #Deliveroo, #JustEat, etc. then once you have picked your restaurant, go and check the restaurant website to see if they have their own delivery option.
Sometimes they offer delivery themselves - or with a chosen partner company - and it can work out cheaper for you. Or if it's the same price, but the restaurant sometimes pockets more from the sale.
I rode my bike to get lunch for my family today and was able to deliver 5 lunches including soups.
I think I can join #Foodora and do food deliveries for a living. 🙂

Only 1.5hrs later, the food wasn’t here. Customer service refunded the order, gave us a voucher for future delivery, and said the food will still turn up… at 19:06
aiemmin sanoin että en käytä #wolt:a eettisten syiden takia, mikä on totta.
toinen syy on se, että se alusta ei toimi. mulla on asunto #tampere:n ydinkeskustassa, mutta sen ulko-ovi ei ole rappukäytävässä. ne muutamat kerrat kun oon tyypannut, niin sitä saa olla lähikaduilla puhelimen kanssa etsimässä kuskia. woltilla on karttamerkintä, mutta ei se kyllä mitään tunnu auttavan.
myös #foodora:a kokeilin jossain vaiheessa, ruoka ei tullu lainkaan perille, ja ne ei maksanut rahoja takaisin, koska olin kuulemma ottanut ruoan vastaan :-)
eli vaikka haluaisin käyttää, niin en oo tarpeeksi vippi noiden asiakkaaksi i guess...
I wrote a #Mattermost plugin so that our users can see Foodora menus on our chat, and place orders there.
I could generate a json with the orders and put on my cart. Easy peasy.
They broke this. I asked them if this could be fixed, or if they could give me a way to make my life easier, as I'd rather skip adding 20+ orders manually to the card.
The answers: our developers are too busy to talk to you. Create a business account if you want to send group orders.
My wife is talking to #Foodora why our neighbourhood has been removed from their food deliveries when the restaurants we ordered from are literally minutes away.
And the answer she keeps getting is: "We have no idea why your neighbourhood has been removed, our system constantly and automatically adjusts delivery zones based on blablabla."
It's a nice glimpse into the future with #AI where "the system" will be making fundamental decisions without anyone knowing exactly why.
