Bought this in Books on iPad because I absolutely loved Prince of Persia on my old 20 MHz 386, and only 1/5 or so in to it, it’s clear that for me that this is the most impactful comic I’ve read since the 1986 The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller which at the time completely changed how I looked at comics. Absolutely love this format of storytelling. ❤️

Hot take: this is actually the best piece of artwork Frank Miller has done in the last 25 years: https://bleedingcool.com/comics/when-frank-miller-drew-judge-dredd-and-2000ad-rejected-it

When people say that all superheroes are inherently fascist, they're ignoring the very real reasons superheroes were invented (mostly by immigrant Jews before and after WWII as a warning against fascism), and extremely specific examples of superhero antifascism like this.

There has long been an reluctance in and media to mention political topics. Other than 's original stories, political stances were verboten, back to a cameo in 1963.

But instead of being viewed as an endorsement of liberal democrat policies by Big Blue, it incorrectly established as a conformist & establishmentarian.

And as has taken over establishment politics, he is now silenced by "bipartisanship."
