A new Fretboard update is on its way to Flathub! This one is mainly to keep it up-to-date with the latest and greatest platform improvements. In fact, the rest of its updates during the 46 cycle might end up only being translation updates (unless I decide to go down the merciless enshittification route, that is 😈)
Does anyone know how to correctly clean the neck and fretboard on the Charvel dk24s? I read there’s a slight satin finish that could be damaged by steel wool. :blobcatcoffee: Thanks! #GearSquad#guitar#fretboard#cleaning#gear#musician
Fretboard's chord pattern identifier has gotten so sophisticated now that it can identify chords that don't have a single variant present in the built-in chord set. I had to add a status page explaining this along with the improved algorithm. This fortunately only happens in absolute edge cases, so it's not an event that will occur particularly often.
Playing with the upcoming libadwaita dialog widget in Fretboard! Even though there's not much use for it outside of the about window in this particular app, I'm super excited about the new widgetry in general. It looks cool, and is going to make apps a lot more streamlined on mobile 📱️⚡️
I'm publishing a minor translation update for Fretboard on Flathub right now. Thanks to @bittin, @sabriunal and @flipflop97 for being awesome people and making the GNOME ecosystem more convenient and accessible for speakers of their respective languages!
I'm publishing a new minor release of Fretboard on Flathub right now. It contains updated translations and some fixes to shape it up for inclusion in GNOME Circle 😁️
Happy holidays! No matter if you participate in the tradition of gift giving at this time of year or not, I've released Fretboard 5.0 as a present for everybody who happens to use it 🎁️
In the spotlight of this update there is automatic chord name formatting and an enharmonic indicator that shows when a chord has more than one possible name.
Get ready for shinier chord names! ✨️ Fretboard now utilizes the ♯ and ♭ characters throughout the entire app. The chord name entry has gained a deep understanding of how chord names are built up, and turns your sloppily typed abominations of chord names into properly formatted strings instantly 😎️
#Fretboard has gotten its first ever minor update. It includes a fix for the system-wide large text accessibility setting and translations into two new languages.
Left-handed guitarists, rejoice! The next version of Fretboard brings support for switching between right-handed and left-handed chord diagrams. Thanks to Terrestrian on GitHub for suggesting this!
#GNOME 45 is finally out, and to celebrate, I've released a new version of #Fretboard! This update brings refined visuals taking advantage of new platform features (thanks for the toolbar view, @alice!), keyboard shortcuts for common functions, and translations into 3 new languages. If you read this a couple of hours after I posted this, you can get the update from Flathub: https://flatpak.app/fretboard
