A new minor version of Letterpress is out, version 2.1!

  • The app now uses the GNOME 46 runtime, and widgets have been updated accordingly (mainly dialogs look better now).
  • Images can now be pasted from the clipboard
  • The app was translated to Simplified Chinese.

@FineFindus has joined the project, so I'm no longer the only maintainer! 🎉 Thank you so much!

I'm now officially deprecating Calligraphy (Couldn't do it yet, but should happen in the next few days). I don't consider it worth maintaining anymore.

Somehow, I've been programming less lately. I just seem to have lost interest somewhat, no idea why. Maybe it'll come back one day.

@0xZogG Well, the headline feature of their latest audio products was ChatGPT integration, and the CEO Carl Pei said during the Phone (2a) launch that the invention of AI was comparable to the invention of agriculture, which is frankly just an overstatement.

The US government's entire beef with TikTok is they believe it's spying on Americans for the sake of the Chinese government, as opposed to American social media companies who spy on Americans for the sake of local, state, and federal law enforcement and various intelligence agencies and literally anyone else who is willing to pay for that data.

Which is why they want TikTok sold to an American company willing to hand that data over to them instead of instituting actual privacy regulations.

@gwynnion I really hate how the US constantly makes excuses for putting Chinese companies at a disadvantage simply to push their own companies! 😡 It's pure racism! Also, it's so hypocritical as they keep talking about how great a free market economy is!
